In Bangladesh children go to school at 5 or 6 years old. Primary school year 1 - year 5. Each year they have 3 terms and 3 exam. End of year exam call final exam. The final exam is really important for every studens because if they pass each subject, they can enroll next class. That's why we can see end of year every parents and their children going to under pressure. They even can't enjoy their holiday.
But in Australia when I see my children. I feel so relieve. No exam no tension. Full of fun their learning space. They learn practically like cooking, painting, gardening, making their own projects with presentation and doing math with fun. The most important thing is natural playground. I think natural playground is important for developing capacities of creativity, symbolic play, problem solving and intellectual development. In Australia end of each terms children can enjoy their holiday.

ReplyDeleteIn Australia more is expected of students when they get to high school, especially if they want to get into university. However, they are far more inclined to continue their education if the primary school years are encouraging rather than too demanding.
