The Qixi Festival- China Valentine's Day
    Most people in the world know Valentine's Day , but only few people know there is a similar festival which is called Qixi Festival in China.
Image result for qixi festivalAccording to Chinese ancient poems and articles, this festival is about 2000 years old  , which is one of  the oldest traditional festivals in China. However ,there's a sad story behinds the festival.A fairy fell in love with a farm boy, they got married without permission from the fairy's parents.  The boy worked hard on the farm and the fairy wove at home every day, just like common couples.They loved each other very much and had two babies . They enjoyed the happy peaceful life. But the happiness would not last long. The fairy' s mother was very angry when she found out her daughter had her own family in the human world.She took her daughter back and only allowed them reunite one night a year .Since then,at the night on 7th July every year, many picapicas flew over the Milky Way  ,built a bridge  for the young couple to meet  each other.
Many years ago,on 7th July on the lunar calendar, women would dress up to the temples to pray for their marriage happy forever and been a good weaver . But the world is changing, traditions are changing. The Qixi Festival is treated more likes Valentine's day nowadays. It doesn't matter, when the lovers who living in modern society have their happy Qixi Day , just happy and blessing for that poor couple,at least they also are happy today.
