FESTIVAL IN MY COUNTRY

In my country there are many different Festival annual event, especially annual event Dayak in West Borneo where I lives. Festival celebrated with great fervour in the Kalimantan region of Borneo such as Gawai Dayak, Robo-robo (Malay), Imlek (Chinese) New Year and Traditional Boat Race (celebrate Indonesia independence day). Here I want to talk about the Gawai Dayak festival. Dayak is religious festival celebrated by the Borneo people of Sarawak (Malaysia) and Kalimantan (Indonesia) in order to express their joy and gratitude for completion of harvest. This Festival was usually performed over period of three month especially by the Dayak Iban and dayak Darat. Since 1986 Pekan Gawai Dayak has been stages and funded by the Local Government and now held over one week only. Celebrations for the festival held every year on 1 of  June in the centered at Rumah Radangk, a traditional Dayak called Longhouse. There were presenting many authentic traditional rituals, exclusive ceremonies and colorful culture parade, also the celebration features traditional games and skills competitions. The festival also feature a display traditional handcraft, traditional dances and Bujang Dara Gawai beauty pageant. All people gathering together to attended this event from many different background, everyone had a good time and enjoys the festival.
